Beauty and the Beast Dancethon

30 members and associates of Sheffield Teachers Operatic Society danced the morning away in Tudor Square on Saturday 2nd October to raise the profile of the Society's up and coming production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast to be staged from 16th to 20th November at the Lyceum Theatre.

The aim was to raise some money to help pay for the many special effects that the show contains.

With ages ranging from 10 to almost 60 and lead by the show's director, Dee Benny-Marshall, (pictured) the participants danced away the morning to non stop tunes from many musical shows as well as some pop songs. Passers by stopped to watch the goings on and enjoyed a break, some even joined in with the dancing.

Dee commented “ The show is a spectacular one, and the funds that this event will raise will go towards making it even better. With real fire and flying effects, the show will be breathtaking”
